Fans were quick to note that the trailers released for Tears of the Kingdom thus far have featured some notable Twili imagery, suggesting a strong possibility of this Realm’s relevance in the upcoming game. In particular, the snake and Ouroboros images that appear in TOTK’ s trailers are extremely similar to the snake ornaments that decorated the throne room of the Palace of Twilight. These snakelike carvings and hieroglyphs notably appear in the Zonai Ruins in BOTW as well, sparking plenty of theories about connections between the
The eponymous Twilight Princess from the game of the same name would make an excellent star of a title all her own. Whether she would be in her true form or the much tinier appearance she has in most of Twilight Princess , Midna is both a powerful and entertaining character that would make for an incredibly enjoyable game experience. Midna is one of Link’s best companions in Legend of Zelda ‘s long-running history, and has a combination of unique magic and interesting backstory that make her a perfect potential protagonist. Her fighting prowess was really showcased in Hyrule Warriors, with her control of Shadows making for engaging combat, and she could give more insight into Twili l
The implementation of crystal portals into Breath of the Wild 2 would be unexpected, but also creative and fun. Link could find them in previously unexplored sections of Hyrule Castle where they were originally intended to be over two decades ago, helping players see new locations and building on BOTW’s lore. They could also be used to access the floating islands across Hyrule’s sky. In E3’s trailer, Link is seen floating and maneuvering through solid rock, indicating that he’ll have some form of control over his movement between Hyrule’s surface from Breath of the Wild and the new settlements above it. However, it’s fun to think that these crystal portals could play a part in that discovery. Perhaps Link and Zelda catch Wind Waker cel-shading of the crystals, leading them to Hyrule Castle where they may be encountering Calamity Ganon in the teaser trailer. Then, once Zelda falls into the darkness, Link continues his search for the portals to help rescue her. There’s also potential that each floating landmass in the sky has its own crystal portal to teleport between each ot
Fans of The Legend of Zelda are likely familiar with the Sacred Realm as this spiritual space housed the Triforce for much of Hyrule’s history. The Sacred Realm was particularly important in Ocarina of Time as Link and Zelda’s quest required them to access the Sacred Realm in an attempt to stop Ganondorf from claiming the Triforce’s power. Once opened, however, the Sacred Realm was invaded by Ganondorf, who stole the Triforce and caused it to shatter into three pie
While the Sacred Realm is spoken of as a land of light, its divine power has sparked countless conflicts across Hyrule’s history. Civil wars and chaotic battles of good and evil have been waged over its sacred Triforce, and while Hyrule’s royal family has long stood as the protectors of the Sacred Realm, their efforts to protect the Triforce have often led to disaster for their kingdom. As Ganon’s malice invades Hyrule once more in Tears of the Kingdom , it seems that the fight for the Sacred Realm is far from o
These connections may seem arbitrary to analyze, but Tears of the Kingdom’s title may follow a similar pattern if its story does focus on Zelda. Zelda’s Triforce of Wisdom associates her with Nayru’s element of water, which would draw a parallel between “tears” and “breath” in the games’ two titles. As the last surviving member of the royal family, Zelda can be considered the representative of her kingdom, so it makes sense to assume that ” Tears of the Kingdom ” may refer to her tragic story. However, while piecing these parallels together may not feel like much of a spoiler on the surface, the implications that lie deeper within Zelda’s timeline reveal a major potential plot line in BOTW’s upcoming seq
The mysterious Zonai tribe is said to have vanished from Hyrule in an ancient time, but details regarding who they were and where they went are unknown. It’s possible that the Zonai tribe was the very same group of interlopers who once attempted to wield their magic over the Sacred Realm to bend it to their will, causing them to be imprisoned in the Twilight Realm. If the Zonai and the Twili truly are connected, then it stands to reason that the Twilight Realm will make another appearance as Tears of the Kingdom explores the mysteries of this ancient tr
