The theory goes that when John was left behind by the gang in a failed robbery attempt, he took out a few of his traitorous comrades before he left, including Arthur Morgan. A good way to fill a plot h
Bluehole and PLAYERUNKNOWN (Brendan Greene) have been hard at work on their latest patch for PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS . The Early Access Month 2 Update brings a new vehicle, a new weapon, client performance optimization and much more. The update is scheduled to go live on May 25 5PM KST/1AM PDT/8AM UTC and is expected to take approx. 1 hour to compl
While Rockstar has refused to confirm many map locations outside of town names, it would make sense to give fans more of what they want. Alternatively, there are maps floating around the internet stating that RDR2’s map will have very little in common with the previous map, with only a slight overlap in West Elizabeth. So there are two rumors for the price of
Sure, I’ve had plenty of my share of games that ended hilariously early, whether they were from my own poor choices or just getting dealt a bad hand as far as my starting location and what weapons were available to me. But more often than not, I’ve had just as many (or more) matches where I just happened to land in a zone of the map with a wealth of ammo and weapons to use to my benefit, or found myself in a path where I was able to keep up with the shrinking blue circle at a quicker pace than my enem
PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS is a last-man-standing shooter being developed with community feedback. Starting with nothing, players must fight to locate weapons and supplies in a battle to be the lone survivor. This realistic, high tension game is set on a massive 8×8 km island with a level of detail that showcases Unreal Engine 4’s capabilit
Likewise, the actual design and visuals of PUBG ban Afghanistan are equally a mixed bag. Character models in particular take on some odd qualities and though players can customize them to their liking, they aren’t exactly stellar looking and the cosmetic options that the game provides (even with loot crates and microtransactions) are limited, at best. The maps are perhaps my favorite aspect of the game’s aesthetic as their vast draw distance and varied terrains are impressive, other than the occasional low-res textures or copy-pasted building and town layo
Over on the Steam community forum for the title, developer Brendan Greene (aka “PlayerUnknown”) outlined what players can expect from the next Monthly Update for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which includes a hefty number of updates for the game. Specifically, these include a new car horn feature when driving vehicles, the addition of first-person only servers for the game in Solo and Duo game types for North America and Europe, support for the Xbox One controller, new weapons and character customization options, and much m
Even though I’ve only put a few hours into Battlegrounds at this point since jumping in, I can already see it as a title that I’ll more than likely come back to in the coming months. With rounds that usually extend for me around 20-30 minutes (if I don’t get killed right from the get-go), the game has drawn in me like few others ever have, much less any type of survival sim or Early Access game before it, and most of that comes down to its incredibly streamlined sense of survival at play, and how it draws players together in a fight to the finish. To say Battlegrounds is exhilarating is an understatement: even in its earliest state right now, I’ve kept coming back to the game night after night because it’s gotten my blood pumping like few other games have in the past few ye

I was one of those people for quite some time. Over the course of various preview events, conventions, and on my own time I’ve dabbled with a few different Early Access titles or survival games to varying success. Recent titles of the past few years, like Rust , We Happy Few , or ARK: Survival Evolved , grabbed my attention for a short amount of time thanks to their unique premises or ideas, but ultimately I ended up losing interest from some of the usual quirks of the survival sim genre. Given their love of crafting systems – which I often find unintuitive and confusing – and the need to monitor a series of Hunger/Thirst meters with death usually inches away, I’ve bounced off most of those titles fairly quickly. Survival sims can sometimes be intimidating to newcomers, and as a result that’s sometimes made me reluctant to try t
The next Monthly Update will also introduce the game’s first new paid cosmetic items through a “crate and key system,” which Greene took time in the community forum to address. Due to some of the negative reaction towards implementing the system, Greene expressed that the introduction and testing of the new paid cosmetics will “serve as the foundation of a healthy economy after launch,” and will aim to “benefit all players – both who are willing to pay and who are not willing to pay for vanity items.” However, Greene also addressed that “our messaging wasn’t clear” in terms of implementing the new system, and added that the team will “try to communicate better moving forwa
