Unless you’re a player like me that’s dumped dozen of hours into the game, PUBG ‘s lack of clear explanation as to the mechanics and gameplay secrets might have newcomers going through a few painful first few hours trying to get the hang of it all. And as much as the game’s few maps offer tons of strategy and replayability, some players might find themselves bored at going back to the same map over and over, unlike multiplayer games with a greater map vari
Bluehole and PLAYERUNKNOWN (Brendan Greene) have been hard at work on their latest patch for PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS . The Early Access Month 2 Update brings a new vehicle, a new weapon, client performance optimization and much more. The update is scheduled to go live on May 25 5PM KST/1AM PDT/8AM UTC and is expected to take approx. 1 hour to compl
PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS is a Last Epoch Rpg-man-standing shooter being developed with community feedback. Starting with nothing, players must fight to locate weapons and supplies in a battle to be the lone survivor. This realistic, high tension game is set on a massive 8×8 km island with a level of detail that showcases Unreal Engine 4’s capabilit
We already know that dual wielding weapons is something Rocksteady perfected in previous titles, it’s one of the main reasons the Max Payne franchise was so enduring. So of course, fans were over the moon when they found out this mechanic was back for this seq
A new post on the community forums for PUBG on Steam revealed that a new update will be heading to the game’s PC version, hot on the heels of the recently-released patch for the Xbox One version of the title. Specifically, the new update packs in bug fixes and seeks to address more of the game’s technical performance, while introducing some new cosmetic changes, such as a new design for the energy drink so it looks less like a knockoff Red Bull
The next Monthly Update will also introduce the game’s first new paid cosmetic items through a “crate and key system,” which Greene took time in the community forum to address. Due to some of the negative reaction towards implementing the system, Greene expressed that the introduction and testing of the new paid cosmetics will “serve as the foundation of a healthy economy after launch,” and will aim to “benefit all players – both who are willing to pay and who are not willing to pay for vanity items.” However, Greene also addressed that “our messaging wasn’t clear” in terms of implementing the new system, and added that the team will “try to communicate better moving forwa
Over on the Steam community forum for the title, developer Brendan Greene (aka “PlayerUnknown”) outlined what players can expect from the next Monthly Update for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which includes a hefty number of updates for the game. Specifically, these include a new car horn feature when driving vehicles, the addition of first-person only servers for the game in Solo and Duo game types for North America and Europe, support for the Xbox One controller, new weapons and character customization options, and much m
This well dressed and well-informed gentleman doesn’t seem to be constrained by mortal limits, so it’s been surmised that he is going to watch the events unfold in RDR2 that will lead to the eventual downfall to John Marston. Why he’s so interested is anyone’s gu
Specifically, Greene clarified with the game’s new cosmetic crates that players will be limited in the number of crates that can be received each week, as crate prices will be reset every Monday. Players will (currently) be limited to six crates per week, while trading and distribution of the crates will be free through the Steam Marketplace. Greene also provided some images of new items that can be found in the two new free-to-open crates coming with the Monthly Upd
Part of that comes from the twists and turns that Battlegrounds implements to keep the action focused and the dynamics of each match constantly evolving. Aside from other players, one of the biggest threats that players will have to face throughout the entire match is an electric forcefield that constricts the playable areas of the map gradually, which works to both prevent camping or cheesing the game mechanics, and to push players into tighter fields of play and encourage confrontation. That also goes for the game’s occasional airstrikes (the “red zones” on the map) that drop lethal bombs on unsuspecting players, and passing planes that can also drop supply care-packages that contain some of the game’s best weapons and gear for players that get lucky. Better yet, the care packages also offer a chance for crafty players to use them as bait and pick off those that aren’t paying attention to their surroundi
But for as many flaws as PUBG has, both subtle and incredibly noticeable, it’s also the game I’ve just wanted to keep coming back to month after month after month. By breaking down the core mechanics of survival games into matches that are both intense and easy to hop back into, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has provided a multiplayer experience that plays out drastically different each time, and yet is just as exhilarating each time that I p
