Also coinciding with the aforementioned map leak, is the fact that this world is said to be about 150% bigger than that of its predecessor. Red Dead Redemption was praised for its open world and exploration, but that game debuted back in 2010. This may not sound like a long time ago, but open-world games have taken quite the leap forward since the last console generat
Awesome? Yes. Revolting? Absolutely. Undead Nightmare is an expansion for Red Dead Redemption that is essentially its own game, and what a game it is. Better than practically every other zombie game available, especially Resident Evil , it pits John Marston into a zombie-infested version of the West. While not revolting, at first sight, the zombie apocalypse in the Red Dead Redemption universe is revolting for a number of reas
The marketing for a game starts the second it is announced. The job of marketing is to not only increase awareness of a title, but maintain hype through the game’s release. Shorter marketing cycles are typically more effective because they have a tighter focus. Red Dead Redemption 2 ’s marketing started in late 2016. While it is intermittent, this incredibly long cycle will likely see the game fall off some people’s radar for months before they suddenly remember that it exists. Rockstar is no stranger to long marketing cycles, but that doesn’t change the fact that it could still negatively impact the game’s sales. Red Dead simply isn’t as well known as GTA , so it needs every push it can get to take the gaming world by storm once ag
While the original Read Dead Redemption did not even allow characters to swim, a glimpse of a character out in open waters in a kayak has caused some to speculate whether gamers will be able to travel across the seas. This might seem like a stretch for some, but again given the limited amount of information fans have to go on, speculation is all that rema
At the PlayStation Experience we learned that a new God of War game is in development, but that we might have to wait another year. However, that doesn’t mean we won’t get a teaser. God of War III’s teaser trailer went live June 2008, a full two years before the game hit store shelves. It’s been five years since we’ve gotten a proper God of War game, and many are itching to know what’s going to happen in Kratos’ next outing. Hopefully we’ll get a few hints in 2015.
There’s a bit of a debate around this one. Just Northeast of Bacchus Bridge and Southeast of Donner Falls lies a hole in the ground. A somewhat familiar looking hole in the ground, for Tolkien fans. That being said, something about the whole house seems… off. Other than the obvious similarity of being a literal house in a hill, there isn’t much about the house that seems like its Lord of the Rings counterpart. Style-wise, they’re pretty disti
In the town of Blackwater, John encounters a sobbing pregnant woman who’s praying at a church. She asks him to go to the child’s father to ask him for money so she can have a better life for her and her child. When John finds the father, who (surprise!) is a total asshole, he challenges John to a standoff for insulting his honor. John guns him down, loots his body for cash, and heads back to the sobbing mot
One of the spookier finds thus far has been the discovery of a woman chained inside of an outhouse. She’s been disfigured and continues, with apparent difficulty, chanting off numbers in a specific order. If you’d like to see or hear her for yourself, you can head to the Braithwaite Estate. On the outer edge is the outhouse with the inmate in question. What’s her story? What do the numbers lead to? Is she locked in there for good reason? Or is it simply because she’s differ
The game gives you two options: warn the reverend so that he can move on alive and well, or kill him for a pile of cash. It’s as simple as walking up to the reverend (who will greet John in a cloyingly friendly manner), and use whatever facet of John’s arsenal to put the reverend down in the street like a dog. Even though it’s the Wild West, popping a reverend was —and still is— considered a bit shocking, to put it ligh
While this could turn out to be a good thing, it could also be a sign of bad things brewing in the background. Rockstar is spinning a lot of different plates, palworld feybreak Update but Grand Theft Auto V released in 2013, and the company needs to get a game out the door to stay relevant. Hopefully, Red Dead Redemption 2 turns out well in the end. That being said, wishing for a game’s success has never done anyone any good. So we’re going to take a glass half empty approach and look at just how Red Dead Redemption 2 's Delay could doom Rockstar as a comp
If there’s one thing Rockstar nails, it’s scope. Their games might not be as 'deep’ of role-playing games as their Bethesda counterparts, but they’re every bit as meaty and way more technically advance. Rockstar’s major releases always push the boundaries of what people think is capable on the current hardware. They take their engine and push it to its absolute limits. With the recent release of PS4 Pro and Xbox’s Project Scorpio imminent, look for Red Dead Redemption 2 to be featured heavily on both of those platforms. As technology progresses and the tools game developers have multiplied exponentially, so does Rockstar’s vision of what a video game can be. Look for Red Dead Redemption 2 to be the prettiest game you’ve ever laid your eyes
