Having now played the game for many dozens of hours, these are just a few of the tips and suggestions that I have for players looking to get the most out of Red Dead Redemption 2 with the game’s launch today on PS4 and Xbox One. By no means are these essential tips for completing the game, given how massive and Open world Games Missions it is for players to experiment and play how they like, but they should be helpful in uncovering every inch that Rockstar’s most immersive world yet has to offer.
From just a few hours with Red Dead Redemption 2 , I went from executing a train robbery, to riding on my steed across the vastness of the Western landscape, to infiltrating a rival gang’s camp and brutally taking them out. I went from roaming through the wilderness and taking in its serene beauty, to riding alongside the rest of my gang through the snowy mountains, to viciously engaging with the law and avoiding imprisonment at their hands.
One of the biggest ways that Rockstar accomplishes this in Red Dead Redemption 2 is by integrating a new „Focus” ability for Arthur to interact with virtually any object, person, or animal that he comes across. By holding the L2 button (as we played the game on PS4 Pro) without a weapon holstered, Arthur can choose from a variety of ways to engage with oncoming travelers, shopkeepers, and other NPCs in the environment, whether that’s to greet them, antagonize them (likely resulting in a violent conflict), rob them, and more.
There’s a lot more out there than I thought and most of what I found initially wasn’t very good. I dug a bit deeper, found some treasures, and even some unique games on the awful side. Every game on this list, bad or good, at least tried to do something ambitious for this genre. In that sense, I appreciate the effort. What’s for sure though, is that you shouldn’t miss any of my favorites on this list. If you play them back-to-back Red Dead Redemption 2 will be out before you know it. After a few days John is good enough to start helping around on the ranch like any gunslinger who recently received a near fatal wound would. Before too long John is working with the US Marshalls and some other interesting characters. This second attempt goes better, except in victory it turns out Williamson is a cowardly bastard who fled to Mexico. This seems bad, but this also means that Mexico is unlocked and border crossing was much easier a little over a century ago.

One final thought for those debating whether or not to pre-order _ Red Dead Redemption 2 _ : Maybe just wait to submit that pre-order until more details are released. It is easy to be excited about such a highly-anticipated title, but we are sure to hear more news surrounding the details of the game as its October release date approaches, ideally including pre-order bonuses. It is rare for games (and retailers) to not include some sort or pre-order bonus, especially those with online experiences. While loot boxes continue to dominate the discourse of legality in video games, it is the community of gamers at large that have actually forced changes to happen. The microtransaction controversy surrounding Star Wars Battllefront 2 is a prime example of the gaming community bringing a fundamental change to a game, as is the more recent removal of the „Death Tax” in _ Sea of Thieves. _ It will be interesting to see if the online element in _ Red Dead Redemption 2 _ follows some sort of play-to-win platform, which many would argue is currently the case in _ GTA Online _ . Regardless, unless Rockstar manages to exceed expectations with the game’s online experience, the studio may be forced to play nice and enter into a collaboration with the community that will ultimately deem the multiplayer mode as a success or fail
